Immediate Prayer Need
Compass Direct News reported earlier today that a 26-year-old woman named Shaymaa was released by Egyptian police into the custody of her family despite their threats to kill her for having converted from Islam to Christianity. She was first taken into police custody last week when she and her husband were accosted by Islamist family members at a local fair in Alexandria. The husband escaped, but Shaymaa has been subjected to intense abuse while in custody. Her repeated requests to press charges against her family for attempting to kidnap and kill her were ignored. Now that she is in the hands of her violent family members, there is a real fear for her life.
Please Pray:
- For Shaymaa's protection from her family who has sworn to kill her for having become a Christian four years ago.
- That the Lord would change the hearts of her family members; that they would see their hatred for Shaymaa as being shameful to God.
- For the safety of Shaymaa's husband whose whereabouts are unknown at this time. Please also pray that he would experience supernatural peace at this time, trusting in the Lord's love for his wife, whom he is helpless to protect at this desperate time.
